We want every driver to be able to find their circuit, set their lap and order the print.

What do we aim for?

WCAG 2.2 at level AA.

Text meets 4.5:1 contrast against its ground on every page and in every print colourway, every control is reachable from the keyboard, and nothing on these pages animates.

Can I look closer at a print from the keyboard?

Yes, and without a mouse at all.

Every example print is a link. Enter opens it larger; the plus and minus keys zoom, 0 fits it to the screen, 1 shows it pixel for pixel, the arrow keys move around it, and Escape closes it and puts you back on the print you opened. With scripts off, the link opens the larger picture on its own.

How does the studio work without sight?

The canvas carries a description, and the measurements are text.

The print is drawn on a canvas that carries a description in words: the circuit, the piece, the style and the lap. The measured length, the circuit's own figure, the corners, the straight and the climb are set beside it as text a screen reader reads. Every control is a native form control with its own label.

What doesn't work yet?

The shape of a lap has no description beyond its numbers.

  • A screen reader hears the length, the corners and the straight, but not the shape of the circuit itself.
  • A Digital File you download is an image, so a screen reader can't read the figures printed on it.

Something in the way?

Write to support@painted.app.

Say which page and what happened, and what you were using if you know it. If any part of ordering gets in your way, tell us the circuit and how you'd like the print to look, and we'll work through the order with you by email.
